In describing The Revolutionary Love Movement and calling us to action, Valarie Kaur says, “We believe Revolutionary Love is the call of our times. In an era of enormous rage, we must resist dangerous policies and acts of hate that threaten our most vulnerable communities. But resistance alone will not deliver us: we will burn out or even start to mirror the rage we are resisting. So we are staging a cultural intervention to birth a new future. Our mission: to equip our movements and communities with tools to labor in love — love for others, our opponents, and ourselves. When we pour love in these three directions, then love becomes revolutionary.”

Valarie Kaur is a seasoned civil rights activist and prophetic voice at the forefront of progressive change. She burst into American consciousness after the 2016 election when her Watch Night Service address went viral with 30+ million views. As a lawyer, filmmaker, and innovator, Valarie has helped win policy change on multiple fronts and now leads the Revolutionary Love Project to champion love as a force for justice. She has been a regular television commentator on MSNBC, and contributor to CNN, NPR, PBS, the Hill, Huffington Post, and the Washington Post. She founded Groundswell, the Yale Visual Law Project, and Faithful Internet. A daughter of Sikh farmers in California, Valarie earned degrees at Stanford University, Harvard Divinity School, and Yale Law School. She was named Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Valarie's new book Revolutionary Love expands on her blockbuster TED talk and will hit the shelves in early 2020.
Valarie Kaur and the Revolutionary Love Project were also awarded the URI Global Peacebuilder Award at the Accelerate Peace conference, in recognition of its work in championing interfaith peacebuilding throughout the world.
