President of the Graduate Theological Union
Rabbi Daniel Lehmann is eighth President of the Graduate Theological Union, where he is also Professor of Pluralism and Jewish Thought. He is the first non-Christian president in the institution’s 56-year history. From 2008 to 2018, he served as the eighth president of Hebrew College in Newton, Massachusetts, and Professor of Pluralism and Jewish Education. Prior to joining Hebrew College, he was the founding headmaster of Gann Academy - The New Jewish High School of Greater Boston, and the founding director of the Berkshire Institute for Music and Arts (BIMA). Rabbi Lehmann is passionate about interreligious learning and leadership and is the immediate past Board Chair of the Boston Theological Institute and its first non-Christian trustee. He has written numerous articles and chapters on Jewish education, theology and interreligious learning, and has lectured widely to professional and communal audiences.
