Join the 13 Moon Peace Walkers this week in Atlanta as they begin their epic 13 Moon Walk 4 Peace. The walk will take them around the country to over 40 cities and reservations to awaken the heart of America by bringing voice to the voiceless and visibility to the invisible.
Activities begin in Atlanta, GA, with an Interfaith Service at Victory for the World Church in Stone Mountain, GA, Dr. Kenneth L. Samuel, Pastor. The service will include musical selections from the Victory Choir, and the Harmony International Youth Chorus. Speakers include Imam Nadim Ali; Jinendra Swami, Audri Scott Williams; and Dr. Kenneth L. Samuel
The Interfaith Service will begin at 7:30pm tonight, October 6, 2010, as the beginning activity of the 13 Moon Walk 4 Peace.
On Thursday, October 7, 2010, The 13 Moon Walk 4 Peace and Agnes Scott College Women’s Study department will present the film, For the Next Seven Generations, a film on the 13 Indigenous Grandmother. Following the film will be a dialogue with the walkers. The location will be in room G-4 in Buttrick Hall (see Agnes Scott College web site for directions).
Then on Sunday at 3pm the 13 Moon Walk 4 Peace will begin its epic journey from the King Center, by the eternal flame. Please join us in our walk from the King Center to Centennial Olympic Park and send the team on their way as they begin this historic walk around the USA, returning to Atlanta on November 11, 2011 (11/11/11).
