Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights Chairman Muhammad Ijaz Noori called on Prime Minister of AzadJammu & Kashmir His Excellency Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan at Mujahid Manzil Rawalpindi. Mr. Ijaz Noori briefed the Prime Minister of AJ&K about the ongoing projects of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights at AJ&K in which promotion of human rights, religious tolerance, women empowerment, social development etc. Chairman PCSW&HR Muhammad Ijaz Noori also briefed the PM AJ&K that PCSW&HR has also launched another project with the title of “environmental education to save the earth” with the collaboration of United Religion Initiative (URI) which is multi religious organization. The main purpose of this project is to build the capacity of 450 women and 300 community activists (master trainers) on environmental education covering the components affecting the environment like pollution, acid rain, climate change, the destruction of rainforests and other wild habitats, the decline and extinction of thousands of species of animals and plants and so on. During this project a broad based awareness campaign will also launched at District Poonch to aware the local community regarding how we can save our environment to save our earth and life, importance of forests and their multiple benefits for environment, people and animals etc. PM AJ&K appreciated the efforts of PCSW&HR and URI to launch this project and said that green and skill Kashmir is vision of Government and this project will surely help the Government to strengthen our vision. On behalf of Government of AJ&K PM assured his full cooperation and support to accomplish this project. PM AJ&K also said that while keeping in view the importance of this project such kind of projects should be launched at massive level also in the other areas of Azad & Jammu Kashmir.
Mr. Ijaz Noori also briefed the Prime Minister of AJ&K about the ongoing projects of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights at AJ&K. Prime Minister of AJ&K lauded the efforts of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights for promotion of human rights, religious tolerance, women empowerment, social development etc at AJ&K. Prime Minister of AJ&K further said that NGOs play a critical role in all areas of development but the basic role of NGOs is to prepare people for change, they empower the people to overcome psychological problem and opposition of oppress, its role cannot be denied in the preset scenario. By making role of NGOs more effective we may reduce the poverty, ensure social revaluation and sustainable social development.
