Yoland Trevino pinning the URI star on keynote speaker Valarie Kaur
URI Global Council Chair Yoland Trevino joined 300 other women of spirit and faith in San Francisco, CA from April 28-May 1 at a conference co-organized by former URI Trustee Kay Lindahl. The conference, “The Alchemy of Our Spiritual Leadership: Women Redefining Power,” was put on by Women of Spirit and Faith, and included workshops, dialogues, meditation, labyrinth walks and more. Keynote speakers were Sister Joan Chittister, author of The Way We Were and Called into Question; award-winning filmmaker Valarie Kaur; and Naomi Tutu, daughter of Archbishop Desmond and Nomalizo Leah Tutu.
