Twenty Bulgarian teens came together on September 12-14 in Starazagora, near Sofia, to learn about volunteering and citizenship—both EU and national—in a training organized by URI Youth Ambassador Rosen Dimov. Workshops led by URI-Europe Trustee Kiran Bali and Matthew Youde, coordinator of URI’s Global Youth Training Program, included leadership skill-building, video-making, the Golden Rule, and the value of interfaith and intercultural dialogue.
“The main message was that they get involved in the NGO sector as young leaders and take an active role in European projects," said Youde. “They were great young people, sociable, attentive and able to work on very little sleep! They had fun too.”
URI-Europe gave a financial contribution to support the program.
