On March 29, participants at Varna’s conference on migration approached the issue from many different perspectives – addressing the issues of human trafficking, European aspects of migration and the desire of NGOs and the media to receive free access to detention camps. The conference also featured a presentation on racism and Islamophobia.
The following day, “Faith Paths Through the Crisis,” an interfaith workshop, brought together members of many organizations for a variety of activities.
The event included a reflection on the role of faith and interfaith action in times of crisis. It also included a presentation on URI, and an opportunity for members of the Bulgarian CCs to get to know each other.
About 40 people attended both events. Participating organizations included European Alternatives, Stara Zagora, a regional youth council, the Bridges CC of Sofia, the Europress Club of Journalists, the Help the Needy Foundation of Ploviv, the DMLB CC and URI Europe.
