More than 51 percent of eligible voters from each of URI’s eight regions participated in the election. The new 23-member Global Council will include six women and 17 men, with the following religious and spiritual affiliations represented: two Buddhists, eight Christians, two Hindus, one Humanist, three indigenous, one Jew, six Muslims, one Sikh and one Spiritual. (At least two trustees claim more than one affiliation).
