On the 28th September members of cooperation circles of United Religions Initiative Bangladesh meet to explore "Reconciiation and Global Unity". For the past few years we have been focusing to strengthen the interfaith network in Bangladesh to connect local activities with URI global platform.
Representatives from almost all the CCs were present along with various prominent dignitaries who raised issues like social justice and need for a communal interfaith platform for reconciliation and solidarity. Our chief guest was Prof. K.A.M. Saaduddin a very dedicated and renowned person who has worked a long way for social justice. Dr. Kazi Nurul Islam , the founder of the department of world religions and cultures at Dhaka University hosted the program and initiated discussions among the members on various constructive interfaith activities took place in the country which are not often being heard. So URI is a platform for global grassroots interfaith network that cultivates peace and justice by engaging people to bridge religious and cultural differences and work together for the good of their communities and the world was realized. Our active member and communication head of Bangladesh Francis Halder has been a strong anchor point for the growth. Participation of Md. Abu Taher a young dynamic professor of the department made the event very luminous. Participants from Ramakrishna mission, Baha’i, Muslim, Hindu and other communities enriched our discussion. An executive team of URI Bangladesh was formed for the further growth and to boost the communication among the members of CCs. URI appreciate prominent personalities for their remarkable participation and offering support for futur growth - a promising shining community. May peace prevail in Bangladesh
