Report of Rally :
BETHAK-Pakistan conducted a protest rally on the 23rd of September against a brutal attack on All Saints Church in Peshawar- KPK Province of Pakistan. 81 people have been killed and more than 148 were injured in a suicide attack near Kohati Gate, Peshawar on Sunday (September 22, 2013) according to local media reports. The incident occurred outside All Saints Church when the Sunday service came to an end.
The BETHAK management along with our parish priest motivated the Christians of Khanewal parish to come of their homes and protest against this brutal attack. We received an excellent response from the Christian community and civil society organizations.
We presented our memorandum to the District Policy Officer with our various demands of protecting the Christians citizens under his jurisdiction. The protesting rally started from St. Joseph’s Parish and protested against the injustice and violence in the streets of Khanewal city, Came to an end at the parish church by offering prayers for the safety of Christians in Pakistan from the militant extremists.
