URI Voices for a World Without Nuclear Weapons CC wants all URI members to know that Sept 26, 2014 is the first observance of the Intentional Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.
There is a great deal of information about this day at: http://www.unfoldzero.org/sep26
On this website is a short video about the day. It features URI member Jonathan Granoff, who has been nominated for the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize for his dedication to abolishing nuclear weapons. I invite URI members to join me in congratulating Jonathan on this recognition. [email protected].
Jonathan was the key organizer of UN events last April at the UN and is planning a special event for the conference in Vienna this December. Both of these important meeting feature William Swing presenting a moral call to action to eliminate nuclear weapons.
For this first International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, I invite you to read the attached paper (HERE) from our CC, A Call to Conscience Statement and to go to the Unfold Zero website.
There are so many issues that need to be addressed at this time. Nuclear Abolition is only possible if we demand it. To demand it of our governments, we need to care about making this happen.
May Peace Prevail on Earth,
Monica Willard
