The most recent earthquake struck near Mount Everest

As another earthquake strikes the Nepal region, the United Religions Initiative family draws closer together to offer prayers and support for those affected. According to the BBC, “The latest quake struck at 12:35 Nepali time (06:50 GMT) and was centred about 76km (47 miles) east of Kathmandu, in a rural area close to the Chinese border.” We invite you to add your messages of care and comfort, and to light a candle for the victims of the earthquake.

This morning as we began the URI Global Staff call, we were led in a powerful prayer for our sisters and brothers in Nepal by Sari Heidenreich, the Regional Coordinator for North America. Our love and support reaches out to those in Nepal whose lives have been shattered by the earthquakes and who are living in fear. Let us all continue to be with one another in the face of disasters both natural and human-made.

peace to all…

Dear Biswadeb,

My heart and my prayers are extended to the families affected by such a force at a time when the region has yet to recover from previous quakes and aftershocks. Blessing to you,  your family and community.

Dear Biswadeb,

Namaskar!

Read about the earthquake and am devastated by the news. Will be doing a fund raiser in the coming weeks and send all the support we can from our non-profit organization. I wish I were there and not 10,000 miles away. My heart is with you all in that region. Praying and sending loads of energy your way.

Thank you

I read this morning a passage from my tradition, coming from the book of Psalms chapter 60, verse 1 and 2. It's a prayer of lament, which is how I feel when I think of Nepal these days. We can truly have faith in a Creator God and yet feel completely perplexed at the state of our world.

The verses are as follows:

"God! you walked off and left us,

kicked our defenses to bits

And stalked off angry.

Come back. Oh please, come back!

You shook earth to the foundations,

ripped open huge crevasses.

Heal the breaks! Everything’s

coming apart at the seams."

In Peace,

Sari Heidenreich, Regional Coordinator for North America

Thanks so much for bringing Psalm 60:1-2 to focus.  The Earthquake in Nepal and parts of India and several other man-made disasters, give us several reasons to despair, and I have despaired many times. Just as I opened the Scriptures this night, I found myself opening Psalm 8.

We keep praying, working and hoping that tomorrow will get better

Sincerely,

Emmanuel Ivorgba, Regional Coordinator, URI West Africa

Hi S.A.D.P. TEAM, Usha, we are so grateful AND GIVE THANKS  that you are  all safe. after the second earthquake. Just to let you know that people around the globe are praying for Nepal along and your efforts for the recovery. Prayer brings with it HOPE/our focus our hearts are with you, knowing that we together are one in the divine eyes, and life.

We all pray and send our blessing, our love, knowing that those who have the skills. the expertise are with you doing their very best, also knowing that you and your team's skills will be needed not only to help rebuild your projects and your schools- holistic echo farms, they will also be needed to help others in the recovery process, the economic  recovery as well as the buildings. The work you are doing in supporting Food Security is important to the world. So we are with you... and we are raising funds in our sustainable enterprises in Aus.

I remind people in this message that we may not be able to be on the ground helping but we can support those who are- those loving souls who give of themselves so generously  as volunteers  -with our gestures and giving. However small, please help the S.A.D.P. team to do their best in feeding people and purchasing materials for the rebuild, as this is the most important thing for the recovery at this time.

love,

Pauline Crosbie of Bumblebee Global Renewal Projects CC
