The International Day of Peace (as honored by the United Nations) is approaching on September 21, 2015. Sister Mary Goretti Kisakye IHMR, Executive Director of the Inter-religious and Intercultural Dialogue Programme (INTERDIP) UGANDA Cooperation Circle, shares the inspiring details of last year’s International Day of Peace celebration.
Greetings of Peace from INTERDIP-UGANDA!
INTERDIP-UGANDA brings together people of different cultures and religions, in particular: the Hindu faith, Christians, Muslims, Bahai, and Sikhs. They work together to promote peace in the communities of Uganda through different programmes. In implementation of its programmes, INTERDIP-UGANDA cooperates with other faith and cultural communities to participate and integrate other multi-sectorial programmes. Its aim is to promote intercultural and interreligious dialogue, art, peace, human rights, and public health. We protect our environment and we are sensitive about issues of climate change, and we promote good governance.
Last year in 2014, we observed the International Day of Peace.
The International Day of Peace is one of the annual events that bring us together to celebrate and to pray for peace as one family of God.
I am happy to share with you the IDP Booklet for 2014, and also some pictures we took of the highlights of some past events and dialogues.
Yours faithfully,
Sister Mary Goretti Kisakye IHMR
