Namaste URI Brothers and Sisters,
The pictures say it all. Twice a month volunteers from Kashi and The River Fund travel to the impoverished community of Gifford to provide food and other essentials to the residents there.
The Christmas event is always special, as we give each family a turkey and all the fixins for a great holiday meal. There are presents for everyone as well as the usual supply of staples for each household.
Many thanks to The River Fund Executive Director Jaya Canterbury-Counts and all the awesome volunteers! As Ma Jaya often said, “There are no throwaway people.” The spirit of the holidays is alive and well!
