Jul 24, 2016.
This is NOT about saying Goodbye. Goodbye can be forever and forever is a long time. Instead, this is about saying "so long" and it is but a breath, a moment and then we'll meet again. I have always used my birthday as a way to say, "Thanks," "Forgive me," and "What's up with you?" For four years, I have had the pleasure and honor to serve you at Our House, the place where ideas incubate and become reality. There have been a LOT of IDEAS that floated into realities for each of us at one time or another, and I'm grateful to have been a part of some of the best IDEAS for our future. Whether its social justice or artistic creativity, WE'VE DONE IT ALL.
So, as always, I use my birthday as an excuse to explore, to dialogue, to PARTY and this year is no exception. We're even going to do it as a 2-day event. For those artists whose work deserve a showcase, I'm offering you an opportunity to procure a booth (a small donation of $15, but NO ONE will be turned away) to share your wares. That's both Saturday and Sunday (no food vendors) and then Sunday, artists who want to showcase their performing talents will be give a chance to perform on PRH's stage.
We'll be open at Noon on the 30th and 31st and hope to party until 7. Music is provided on Saturday with a DJ, but Sunday is a talent showcase led by "The Tents of Qadar" musical group. To sign up, please call Ameenifu at 832.897.9317. To sign up as a vendor, contact Eryon at 713.429.7587.
Officially, Our House will no longer be facilitated by me as of August 31st. It is my hope, however, that this HOUSE will always be known as "our house" as it belongs to the community. This will also be a time to pick up artwork that has been left and to get a HUG from me. You have meant so much to me. EACH of YOU. No exceptions.
So, as I use to say at the end of my radio broadcast: This is a time when the IMPOSSIBLE becomes POSSIBLE, the POSSIBLE becomes PROBABLE and the PROBABLE becomes inevitable. There's nothing Impossible in our tasks. Impossible is only something that hasn't been done. PEACE. ~ Miss P.K.
