350.org is an international campaign that's building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis--the solutions that science and justice demand. Their mission is to inspire the world to rise to the challenge of the climate crisis—to create a new sense of urgency and of possibility for our planet.
As many of you may know, they have initiated a global work party on 10/10/10 and it's shaping up to be the largest single day of carbon-cutting action in the planet's history. As of today, 43 out of 54 African countries have joined; 46 European countries have signed up, 22 out of 28 Indian States registered their events, 18 out of 20 Latin American countries are participating, and 49 US States. To see all the events and countries that have been registered, go to www.350.org.
In the last five days, ten of the "missing countries" without events got on the map, bringing the country count up to a whopping 165!
If you haven't gotten involved yet, you can find an event at www.350.org. If there isn't one near you, you can register an event on the site, and tell everyone about it.
