URI Sri Lanka gathers youth together for training skills building and networking, so that they can work more effectively in their own community.
URI Shanthi Sena Cooperation Circle and URI Inter Religious Initiative have worked together under the themes of health, environment, and child development. The Cooperation Circle members jointly built a bus stand near to Pandirippu High School in Kalmunai, Ampara, to provide care and shelter for the children who wait for the school bus there.
It's called the “Shelter for Co-Existence.”
It was opened on July 16th, 2017 to promote harmony among people of different faiths. It was great to see all religions as promoters of interfaith harmony under one roof. The shelter became a place where people of all faith could come together to show solidarity with peace.
Over 75 Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Buddhists, youth and adult leaders, and coordinators and members of URI Sri Lanka participated the programme.
