Heidi Rautionmaa of URI Multiregion Cooperation Circle Faiths Without Borders shares this photo of an interfaith iftar held during Ramadan last June in Finland. “Our hosts offered a great joint dining table. We were a wonderful mixed congregation,” she writes. “Especially thanks to the community leader Altaf Raja.”
Representatives of different religions joined together for a shared iftar (the meal eaten by Muslims after sunset during Ramadan). Many of the guests had attended other URI activities over the years and were returning for another opportunity to reach out for interfaith connection. Heidi adds, “I had a joy to invite people of faiths to join.”
