Greetings of Peace from URI East-India!
On 25th December, on the eve of Christmas, Sister Nibedita Peace Cooperation Circle has celebrated the birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ in the very rural area of Bankura District (West Bengal). They have celebrated this holy day with the needy and with street children who are deprived of so-called Christmas celebrations with expensive cakes and outings with friends in posh restaurants. Sister Nibedita Peace Cooperation Circle has distributed cakes and chocolates among more than 100 street children irrespective of their caste, creed or color, in their local area. According to Cooperation Circle members, it gives them immense pleasure to make the children happy and feel special about the holiday.
I, as a URI youth program coordinator, feel proud and glad that a youth Cooperation Circle, based in the extreme rural part of West Bengal, feels so deeply for the children who have come into this world with no reason to be deprived in that manner.
It is commendable that they have raised funds by their own efforts to make this event successful. I would like to give them special appreciation for this.
I have written this mail on behalf of Sister Nibedita Cooperation Circle, as they are not fluent with a computer and other languages. As a URI youth program coordinator, I believe it is my responsibility to make the work visible of the Cooperation Circles who face difficulties for some reason. Because of that I am working very closely for the 'Visibility of the Cooperation Circle'.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a very happy and joyful New Year!
In Peace,
Abhirup Khan
