URI Cooperation Circle members visited a remote village in Hamirpur District, Banda, Uttar Pradesh. In order to visit a medical clinic, the villagers have to travel 30 km. During the rainy days, they can’t move out of their homes, and if there is any medical emergency, they have to wait until the land dries and rely on support from family members instead.
Responding to the crisis, on the 23rd of April, Sarvodaya Bundelkhand and Samagra Vikash organized a free eye check-up and gender sensitization program (teaching community members that their career and life options are not constrained by traditional gender roles) for the underprivileged residents of the remote village.
Our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Shiv Vijay Singh Ji and Savita Didi for their continuous efforts in building community.
