Afghanistan Youth Empowerment and Peace-building Organization (AYEPO), a URI Cooperation Circle, hosted a student art competition to help heal the wounds of living with violence and to promote peace among students of different backgrounds. This is especially needed in Afghanistan today, where young people have grown up facing fear, danger, and alienation from their peers of different cultures. The Cooperation Circle also runs workshops teaching students leadership skills, “soft” skills, and mediation training.
