On August 17, Lilongwe Central Cooperation Circle, a URI member group in Malawi, facilitated an educational visit for the members of Nkhudzi Bay Utale Club to Lionde National Park to learn from experts on environmental issues. Their goal was to learn sustainable, eco-friendly skills like agro-forestry, agro-horticulture, soil and water conservation, and human-wildlife conflict management. This would allow rural, smallholder farmers and underprivileged women to use these techniques to help achieve socio-economic development and empowerment.
Learn more about the outcomes of the visit, which include beginning a beekeeping program, in the .PDF report below.
