Praveena Tharmathas and Yasmin Valiallah are founders of Student Aid Drop, a URI member group in Sofia, Bulgaria that raises funding and organizes collections of food, sanitary products, toys, and clothes for refugees in local camps. Even though the two women were then only 19 years old and completing their schooling, they were moved by seeing the plight of refugee families and knew they had to do something to help.
