Last month, on April 6, the members of the URI Latin America and the Caribbean region gathered on a virtual call. The meeting was a remarkable achievement during a time of pandemic isolation, bringing together 36 participants from twenty different Cooperation Circles (URI member groups) in seven countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela). Not only did members discuss and advance peacebuilding work across the region, but the call itself was also a celebration of shared humanity. Participants’ families and pets popped in to say hello, and everyone held up one word with special meaning to share their hope and love with the group.
