Last June, Karonga Nthora Cooperation Circle (a URI member group in Karonga, Malawi) celebrated World Environment Day by watering the trees they had planted earlier this year at Nthola Primary School. By planting and caring for trees, members are combating deforestation, restoring environmentally-degraded land, and bringing more attention to the importance of trees in the hydrological cycle.
