On September 5, the world celebrated the International Day of Indigenous Women, here in Brazil it was no different. Isabel Medeiros, first contact of the CC Caminhos da Terra, also recorded her tribute for this very significant date, just as in the rest of Latin America Brazil had a lot of different native peoples.
In Brazilian literature, there are many stories, which tell how the disrespect of indigenous women, on the part of the colonizers, was being built and institutionalized in the social relations that unfolded during the strengthening of colonization in Brazil.
Although the celebration of a day is not enough to eliminate the inequalities that exist between peoples, remembering that we need to spread peace and equality among the beings, that live on this planet, is a proof that humanity is making its efforts to make it more friendly, aware and responsible!
