Every year on September 21, the International Day of Peace is celebrated around the world. The UN General Assembly has declared this date as the day dedicated to strengthening the ideals of peace, through the 24-hour observation of non-violence and a ceasefire.
This year, it has been clearer than ever that we are not each other's enemies. Rather, our common enemy is a virus that threatens our health, safety, and lifestyle. COVID-19 has driven our world into turmoil and forcefully reminded us that what happens in one part of the planet can affect people everywhere. ”
The Regional Coordinator, Dr. Enoé Texier to celebrate this International Day of Peace with the theme this year 2020, "Forging peace together" sent a message of compassion and hope to all members of the URI network.
