Hindus are now celebrating the festival of Chaitra Navratri, a nine-day festival which began on April 13 this year. The major celebrations of Navratri occur twice a year, in the spring and fall, during which time devotees celebrate the Divine Mother in her many different forms. In many regions, the festival falls after the harvest. Many celebrate this festival by fasting and worship.
