URI celebrates our ongoing partnership with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) for the Faith for Earth program. This series of workshops is taking place in countries around the world this year to train faith leaders and their communities to become environmental heroes. The first online training of #Faith4Earth councilors took place in April 2021 with community members from North India, featuring words of inspiration from many of India’s foremost faith leaders, as well as toolkits and trainings on how to encourage sustainability from faith communities. On June 3 (see image), URI and UNEP held an appreciation ceremony recognizing Faith for Earth Councilors for their outstanding work so far.
