The Latin American Young Peace Leaders Training Program (FJLP) 2024

Between June and November 2024, the Young Peace Leaders Training Program (FJLP) was developed in two online phases, organized by the URI AL&C Coordination and whose last phase will be a face-to-face meeting from December 4 to 8 in Bogotá, Colombia, which will be attended by 16 participants from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, and Venezuela.

Some are members of 8 Cooperation Circles in the region: Mukua, Para el Diálogo, Unakita, Teusaquillo, UriSol, Fraternidad Interespiritual, Los Descendientes de Guatemaya, Samay, and Nacional Hondureño.

The young people received knowledge and tools on the culture of peace, interreligious and intercultural dialogue, violence prevention, eradication of hate speech, women's self-defense, environmental restoration and sustainability, spiritual leadership in action, development of community projects, health care, and well-being.

The entire program was coordinated by Adriana Reyes, Anthropologist, Assistant to the Regional Coordinator for Latin America & the Caribbean and the Regional Coordinator Dr. Enoé Texier, assisted by Ágata Brito and Maíra Fernandes, Assistants from Brazil and the support of members of the URI Global Office: Reuben Shank, Sarah Oliver, Wanda Holsman, Lauren Van Ham, Karen Volker, Larissa Abaunza, Greshma Raju, Alice Swett, Vanessa Fiuza and Tahil Sharma.
