Asociación de Líderes de Comunidades de Fe is the first interreligious experience formalized in Colombia, a country riddled with conflicts for many years. Since its inception, it has been exemplary in its ecumenical and interdenominational mission. Their main purpose is related with the vocation of non-violence. Their actions promote peace and reconciliation between those who have clear differences but want to build trust. Members recognize that there are great problems and believe that dialogue is the way to peace. They have built a community open to dialogue, respect for differences and inclusion. Teusaquillo, where this group is based, is in the west center of Bogotá. It is a completely urbanized town, with many green areas, and from this neighborhood this interfaith group has been doing social work in the communities including anyone who joins the work for human rights as long as they do not do any political proselytizing. They are working to make Teusaquillo a “Territory of Peace” based in forgiveness, compassion, solidarity, social justice, human rights, respect for children and peasants.
