Islam is the predominant religion in Djibouti, although there are other religious communities and diversity is highly respected. Members of Junior Chamber International (JCI) believe that promoting dialogue among these different communities is important to prevent misunderstandings. They work with youth to create awareness on the need to set up a national code of conduct to further enhance the peaceful coexistence, harmony and mutual respect among followers of Islam and Christian in Djibouti. JCI fosters provides youth the opportunity to contribute positively to the development of their country. One of their most successful programs is called “Peace is Possible.” It promotes peace on the local, national, regional and global level. JCI Djibouti organizes conferences at the University of Djibouti to raise young people's awareness of the importance of peace.
