St. Mary's Bethany Central School came into existence in the year 1991 with the motto "character through faith." It started with limited number of students with a handful of teaching and non-teaching staff. It was really a glorious beginning. Now it is proudly standing with head held high at the centre of Valakom. The school provides each student with the best-possible education based on fundamental human values. Each student is helped to develop a wholesome personality for which due emphasis is given in the curriculum for intellectual, physical, moral and spiritual growth. A sense of social awareness and responsibility is created in the growing child, making him or her self-reliant. The program of education implemented in this school aims at forming fine human persons and worthy citizens for India who are committed to the sublime value of our nation. School authorities feel that they have to encourage interfaith harmony among the people of all faiths, especially Hindus, Christians and Muslims, who are living in this area, and that this is essential for building a serene society. They have realized the value of the Preamble, Principle and Purpose of URI and have shown special enthusiasm in joining other schools in taking the “One Billion Youth for Peace” pledge.
Our motto is “character through faith.”
To develop a meaningfully educated society.
