Xavier’s Cooperation Circle (CC) is comprised of renowned activists from Christian, Islam and Hindu faiths. Its members have all been very vocal about the rights of minorities and communal harmony. Xavier’s CC is a Jesuit-run and managed, non-governmental organization. It was established and registered in October 1976. CC members bring about social change through promotion of justice through all-round empowerment to the most marginalized poor and all the unprivileged sections of society such as men, women, youth, and children irrespective of caste, culture, cult, religion, region, race, language, gender or age. Their primary focus is on women/children in the slums of Ahmedabad city. This becomes a prime point of reference of their intervention. They are also reaching out to the Adivasi (tribal) belt and other parts of Gujarat.
