Ever since UN announced June 21st, as the International Yoga day, several yoga enthusiasts around the world from different countries were gearing up and preparing to celebrate for the first time a special day dedicated to purify one's Body, mind and spirit. So in a way, this was the day to practice 'You become the change to see the change around you' echoed by Mahatma Gandhi. India being the seat of sages and saints who propounded and promoted yoga systems for ages for the welfare of whole world, took the lead and it is noticed that yoga is practiced daily by all those who are convinced of its holistic benefit for self and as part of social welfare.
It was indeed a noble beginning for PEACE CC this year, as it extended valuable help to handicapped students. The brain behind this was Maitri, the dynamic youth of our CC.
Last month, during our meeting, Maitri Tanna, an active youth member of PEACE CC (Multiregion) came up with an innovative idea of mass collection of old newspapers, old paper boxes and selling them to earn some money and use the money to help two handicapped students attending school. She wanted to begin the New Year with a noble cause. As the old papers goes for recycling in a way this also helps towards environment cause, she said.

Horaginamani encouraged and joined hands with school children to support ‘Clean India Mission’ (Swachh Bharath Abhiyan) at Holy Creseant Educational Society’s Alhuda School situated in KHB Colony of Bijapur City, Karnataka on 25th November, 2014.
On Sept. 6th, as part of YLP for youth we coordinated for a three hour outreach from 10 am to 1pm at ISKCON, Juhu. The outreach included darshan, visiting Srila Prabhupada's museum, interacting with a Muslim Tailor, attending seminar and finally seeing aarthi of the Lord.
On the occasion of UN International Day of Peace, PEACE CC from west zone, India organized Peace celebration event at KES' Shree Mumbadevi Vidya Mandir a leading school from western suburbs of Mumbai having both state level and IGCSE board as part of their curriculum. The event was organized on Sept. 19th, 2014.
A Faculty Development Programme on Renewable Energy and Alternative Fuels (REAF 2014) was conducted from June 16 to June 20, 2014 at Delhi Technological University (DTU), Delhi by Dr J.P. Kesari, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department and an active member of PEACE CC. Prof. Kesari, a former director at AICTE, is specialized in solar energy having obtained his PhD in the same field and is currently faculty adviser on solar projects at DTU, Delhi.
