LONDON'S BRIDGE CLOSES DOWN

After being showcased during June and July at Trafalgar Square’s St. Martin in the Fields, THE BRIDGE exhibition in London ended on August 2.  Many thousands attended the exhibition over the two months.

The overall purpose of THE BRIDGE exhibition is to enhance understanding, bring about respect, enable sharing, and deepen friendship between those of different faiths and cultures of the Middle East and West to bring about peace.  Numerous groups (through discussion panels, children’s education, etc.) used the exhibition as a catalyst to address the importance of interreligious and intercultural harmony.  Reflecting on THE BRIDGE, Rev. Dr. Sam Wells, Vicar at St. Martin in the Fields said, “The whole exhibition has been a blessing to us, from the memorable opening right up until today. It’s provoked so many conversations.”

Here is a selection of the many comments we received.

  • Thank you for showing us ways to be bridges - unity and complexity together. Blessings.
  • The Bridge has given us hope for a future filled with love and peace between all members of our human family.
  • These works help build bridges by drawing our attention to basic connections and links between human beings of all faiths. Walking the tight rope without fear was a good example of what we can aim to achieve in engaging in dialogue and debate with people of different religions.
  • This exhibition provokes thought and can lead to ground-breaking discussions. Let's get them started!
  • I loved this exhibition about love, unity, connection between cultures, people etc….
  • A wonderful feeling of peace, love and unity from this exhibition.
  • Wonderful. Peace starts with the person in front of you. Treasure each person. We are all human.
