Join us for the Summer of Peace

It can be discouraging, even heartbreaking, to hear of tragedies and violence happening in all corners of the world. Witnessing racism, corruption, environmental destruction and human rights abuses in the media — or first-hand — can leave you feeling overwhelmed and confused about what you can do to create real, lasting change.

A parallel story is unfolding, too; one of innovative peacebuilding solutions that are emerging and expanding across the globe — from visionaries, leaders and teachers who are engaging in social and political movements on the global stage to everyday citizens performing great acts of compassion in their homes and communities.

Through these efforts, a new understanding of peace is spreading. An understanding that embraces the deep spiritual realms, as well as grounded, practical actions that can transform difficult situations locally and globally.

Now you can join some of these esteemed thought leaders and trailblazing agents for change sharing the latest knowledge, science, insights and practices for peace. You’ll receive the inspiration and guidance you need to meet conflict with compassion — whether in your own heart, your community, or our larger world.

Through The Summer of Peace, you’ll discover:

  • A greater sense of ease, joy and well-being with practices to help you connect more profoundly to the deep peace within YOU
  • The keys to harmonious and loving relationships with your family, friends, co-workers and community members
  • Uplifting stories from those on the front lines of creating positive change in the most desperate areas on the planet
  • Best practices for citizen engagement and conscious activism to help accelerate the shift to a world of peace!

When you join Summer of Peace 2016, you’ll receive access to four extraordinary peace summits! Below is a snapshot of each summit:

Everyday Peace Summit (Tuesdays, June 28-September 6): will teach invaluable techniques in stress reduction, overcoming fear and self-doubt, developing self esteem, cultivating compassion and forgiveness, communication skills, community peacebuilding and living from a place of inner resilience and Oneness. This series seeks to help you understand peace, take action for peace, and be part of a growing global movement for peace education.

Global Compassion Summit (July 13 & 14): Global leaders from around the world will highlight stories of how compassion and mindfulness are contributing to a more conscious, peaceful and sustainable world —teachers bringing mindfulness to at-risk youth, attorneys using mindfulness and compassion to shift our legal system, physicians putting “care” back into health care, and activists who are using compassion to anchor their communities together.

Countering Violent Extremism (August 10 & 11): Global leaders from non-governmental organizations, government agencies and social science experts will engage in thoughtful (and thought-provoking) conversations, exploring themes of innovative peacebuilding approaches, gaps and challenges in prevention, real drivers of extremism, policy impact, and practical ways you can support efforts to counter it.

11 Days of Global Unity (September 11-21): links changemakers and their work locally to an inspiring global movement for the promotion of peace, justice, sustainability and transformation. Each day will have a different theme of discussion—unity, interdependence, the environment, economic justice, health, children and youth, women, human rights, freedom, disarmament, and peace.

With the Summer of Peace, we’re galvanizing an emerging global movement to create a culture of peace by showcasing peacebuilding efforts — from inner to the international levels — across major sectors of society, including education, healthcare, government, nonprofit and business sectors. You’ll be inspired to participate in peace efforts in ways that are meaningful, relevant and accessible to YOU.
