The staff of URI India North Zone are organizing the region’s first CC exchange and support program from June 1-November 31, 2016. Presently, there is a total of about 95 participants.
The program’s first stage will entail working closely with Mahila Chetna Kendra CC for the upliftment and empowerment of women in Dera Village, Delhi. As part of our first concentrated attempt to provide life skill training programs for women of all age groups, caste, and religion we will be supporting the creation of English and personal development classes in the area.
As the world is globalizing and work opportunities are changing, basic proficiency in English language is not only an advantage but also fast turning into a basic requirement as well. Especially in small villages where women often lack basic education and equal opportunities to work and study, this program will be a window of hope and light for them. It is for this reason that a call for help in this regard was raised by regional CCs.
Special thanks to our L.O Subhi Dhupar, Veena Kumar (Mahila Chetna Kendra CC) and Veena Gaur (Rohini CC) for support and running this workshop.
