Yesterday, ten members from Quested Peace and Jordan Seeds of Peace Cooperation Circles distributed food packages and donations to needy Syrian refugees in a camp located south of Amman. It was the same camp where we provided a portable classroom in cooperation with Fundacja Spolecznie Bezpieczni, Poland last September 2016. We checked up on the classroom and heard about the challenges the camp is facing. We are now trying to find another volunteer to help in teaching the children, as there is only one teacher available in the camp, whereas about 40 children need primary education.

The refugees are suffering from lack of basic human needs including proper medical care, clean water, satisfactory conditions of sanitation, and hygiene and chronic malnutrition, which makes refugees (particularly newborn babies) fragile and more susceptible to a variety of diseases and illnesses

We will not leave our brothers and sisters alone in the camp; we will do our best to improve their life conditions. They are our neighbors and Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) once said, "Jibril (Gabriel) kept recommending treating neighbors with kindness until I thought he would assign a share of inheritance." He also said, “He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while the neighbor to his side goes hungry.”

Words cannot explain how fulfilling and rewarding our experience was. We saw happiness in others and we felt happiness in ourselves.
