After years of trying to entice the interfaith groups here in New Zealand to mark the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week, I was able to coordinate a cultural concert in our capital, Wellington, this year.
Even though it was very much a regional event, it marks the first time the New Zealand Interfaith movement has actually done an event to celebrate the week. In the past, it has been difficult, as we also have our national holiday in the middle of the week - Waitangi Day.
We had 50 people come together from multiple faith traditions, as well as a representative from the United Nations Association of New Zealand. It was a lovely evening of celebrating and sharing.
Please enjoy the following recordings from the event.
