Making the most of the connections within our global network, URI members in Jordan hosted a cooperative cleanup in Zay Forest last month for Environment Day. The URI Office in Jordan and URI member group Desert Bloom connected with members from Seeds of Peace and Mercy (two other URI member groups). Members of the local community also became involved in the cleaning efforts, resulting in a more beautiful natural area for the public.
Participants also shared three inspirational paintings at the site and met with municipal staff to suggest more onsite garbage receptacles.
“We are the generation that can make peace with nature,” one participant said. “Let’s get active, not anxious.”
