Sacred Currents Inc. Cooperation Circle (CC) is a Richard Petkovic initiative that aims to produce arts and cultural projects that facilitate a shared experience that transcends difference and creates community. The group is made up of people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds: Croatian Tibetan, Buddhist, Serbian Orthodox, humanist/atheist, and many others. Sacred Currents Inc. CC manages the annual Sydney Sacred Music Festival, whose purpose is to showcase diverse devotional music, art and ceremony. They create art (music, theatre, visual etc.) to promote understanding of the cultural and spiritual diversity present in Australia. Additionally, they facilitate arts projects that use collaborative and inclusive cultural development processes to empower their participants. They uphold their purpose by running an intentionally interfaith concert, featuring Zen, Aboriginal, Mongolian Shamanist, Chinese, Catholic, Animist, and Sikh musicians. Their orchestra, “Sydney Word Music Chamber Orchestra” was featured in a documentary that can be found on their Facebook page.
