Last Sunday, Bishop William Swing, Founding Trustee and President Emeritus, delivered a sermon at Grace Cathedral, in San Francisco.
In his words: "Next week, we will elect a president of the United States. Among the myriad responsibilities that go with the office, none is of greater magnitude than the use of nuclear weapons."
Between August and September 2021, the URI AL&C Online Youth Training organized by the URI Global Program for the participation of youth was developed with the intervention of 15 young people from the CCs: Aflaiai, Constructores de Puentes, Teusaquillo, Mukua, Quinaroes , COEMATI, The Descendants of Guatemaya, Samay, ACRE from the countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama and Venezuela.
Being a group of women with tight relations, they want to share their special talents with each other with the target of creating peace. They want to be a safe and productive place to discuss local and global issues.
At a time when the human community is being challenged to find unity, as extremists fan the flames of division, and when humanity as a whole has become dangerously alienated from the Earth that sustains us, the COVID19 pandemic and the “social distancing” required has further challenged our sense of unity.
This time around with the new pandemic, as an 83-year-old, I putter around wiping doorknobs and watching, hypnotized, the numbers of cases and deaths climb relentlessly.

As part of the celebration of the 2020 World Interfaith Harmony Week (the first week of February every year), a diverse interfaith and intercultural group from different parts of the world journeyed to Jordan, Palestine, and Israel under the theme of “Holy Land - Living Water.”
