URI Story Spotlight

Last Sunday, Bishop William Swing, Founding Trustee and President Emeritus, delivered a sermon at Grace Cathedral, in San Francisco.

In his words: "Next week, we will elect a president of the United States. Among the myriad responsibilities that go with the office, none is of greater magnitude than the use of nuclear weapons."

Between August and September 2021, the URI AL&C Online Youth Training organized by the URI Global Program for the participation of youth was developed with the intervention of 15 young people from the CCs: Aflaiai, Constructores de Puentes, Teusaquillo, Mukua, Quinaroes , COEMATI, The Descendants of Guatemaya, Samay, ACRE from the countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama and Venezuela.

URI remains alarmed by the escalation of violence between Israel and Hamas & expresses grave concern for the civilians on the ground.

Healthy Lives for Youth

AFFCAD Cooperation Circle in Uganda organized a health camp to increase access and use of quality, inclusive, and integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights-SRHR and HIV services among vulnerable and young people living in the slums of Kawempe- Uganda.

Together For Children

Children and youth are central to URI’s vision, mission, and purpose and are pivotal in URI’s work for a world of peace, co-existence, tolerance, justice, and healing.

Two Cooperation Circles, Choti si Khushi in India and AFFCAD in Uganda are working towards supporting young children in slum communities through designing programs and activities to champion their well-being.

Together Supporting Women's Empowerment and Leadership

URI has taken actions to amplify the voice and action of women’s initiatives and efforts, create networks for sharing, caring, and connecting with women in different URI regions, foster collaboration, and share educational and resource mobilization opportunities to support women in the network.

Children Say

Baraza Cooperation Circle initiated a programme called UNITY. This society-rooted scheme will promote positive values of integration, make participants economic assets by acquiring strong skills for employment or volunteering, and enable them to appreciate equality and diversity in their communities.
