Meet URI's new Executive Director, Karen Volker - As I step into my new role as URI’s first woman Executive Director, I want to acknowledge and highlight that I have joined a movement filled with remarkable individuals and organizations that harness collective strength to create meaningful impact—from local communities to the global stage.

United Religions Initiative (URI) is thrilled to announce three significant milestones in 2025, including a leadership transition.

Between August and September 2021, the URI AL&C Online Youth Training organized by the URI Global Program for the participation of youth was developed with the intervention of 15 young people from the CCs: Aflaiai, Constructores de Puentes, Teusaquillo, Mukua, Quinaroes , COEMATI, The Descendants of Guatemaya, Samay, ACRE from the countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama and Venezuela.

Reaching Peace through the Heart

As we joined local CCs from the Kerala region coming together to share their work and discuss in groups goals and challenges to be addressed in their next steps, as well as how our global team can serve and support these efforts, we listened with attention to Dr. Sreemathi Seshadrinathan, as she presented to us the achievements of their running program SOCAN (Solution for Cardiac Afflicted Needy).

Pillars of Hope

The Justice Desk Cooperation Circle in South Africa through the iNtsika yeThemba project organized a session with youth and guided them to increase their self-awareness by recognizing their emotions, thoughts, and how certain behaviors impacted their feelings.
